United Launch Alliance is a joint venture of Boeing and Lockheed Martin formed in 2006 to consolidate the two companies' expendable launch vehicles. ULA has been the launch provider for most US national-security and NASA flagship missions, flying the Atlas V and Delta IV families and, more recently, the Vulcan Centaur. Its rockets have launched planetary missions including Curiosity, Perseverance, Juno, New Horizons and MAVEN. The company is privately held by its two parent corporations.
