Gliese 317 b - a super-Jupiter (about 2.5 Jupiter masses) on a nearly two-year orbit around a red dwarf - an unusually massive planet for so small a star. Found from the star's wobble; it has never transited or been imaged, so its size is a model estimate and no density is quoted.

Designated 'b' under the IAU convention that letters a star's planets 'b', 'c', 'd'... in the order they are discovered (the star itself is the unwritten 'a').

Discovered in 2007 from radial-velocity monitoring - one of the few giant planets known around a low-mass red dwarf.
