WASP-17 b — one of the PUFFIEST planets known: about 2.0 Jupiter radii but only ~0.5 Jupiter masses, giving an extraordinarily low density — it would float on water. It also orbits RETROGRADE, backward relative to its star's spin, betraying a violent dynamical past. Its density is real (transit + measured mass). JWST has detected quartz cloud crystals. Never imaged.

- Designated 'b' under the IAU convention that letters a star's planets 'b', 'c'… in the order found (the star is the unwritten 'a'); no IAU proper name is assigned.
Announced in 2009 as a hugely inflated planet on a retrograde orbit; JWST later found silica (quartz) nanocrystal clouds in it.
