Space Exploration Technologies Corp. is a privately held American launch and spacecraft manufacturer founded by Elon Musk in 2002. Its headquarters moved to Starbase, Texas in 2024; the original factory remains in Hawthorne, California. It develops and flies the partially reusable Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy rockets, the Dragon cargo and crew capsules, and the fully reusable Starship system under development. SpaceX operates Starlink, the largest satellite constellation ever deployed, providing broadband internet. The company is the primary commercial-crew and cargo provider to the International Space Station for NASA and conducts the majority of the world's orbital launches by mass. It remains private, with valuation set in secondary share sales.
